CAM-CONCEPT is a computer-aided manufacturing application that is fully integrated with Solid Concept. It benefits from all the high-performance functions of the CAD environment not usually available to CAM software including, in particular, its associative database.
Switching from design to manufacture is quick and transparent for the user.
CCAM-CONCEPT includes many Milling, Turning and wire functions as well as the simulation of generated tool-paths. A wide range of postprocessors is also available in CAM-CONCEPT (including NUM, FANUC, Heidenaïm…).
POWER
OF AN INTEGRATED ENVIRONMENT:
The Solid Concept environment makes CAM-CONCEPT extremely versatile.
In machining mode, users can position the work-pieces they wish to machine on any type of clamping device (fixture, vice, etc.). The items are positioned using the Solid Concept assembly functions.
Machining
paths can be prepared directly on the 3D work-piece or
using 2D sketches, which can of course be parameterized.
The tool paths are automatically updated when any modification
is made to the models’ machining context (sketch, part or assembly).
In
CAM-CONCEPT, associated geometry and tool paths are linked.
Functions such as these are especially useful to quickly
transform geometry with nominal dimensions into geometry
with mean dimensions.
Tools to complement CAM CONCEPT:
Organization of machining operations: The organization of machining operations is carried out directly in the construction manager in graphic mode.
· Tool
library / Choice of materials: A tool library lets you
choose the types and dimensions of tools. Allowing for
the choice of materials, CAM-CONCEPT calculates the cutting
parameters automatically. Both the tool library and the
materials table can be customized according to user requirements.
· Tool
store: A tool store is associated with each machine and
this is used to manage the numbers of each tool in the
store and their offset numbers.
· Interactive
workshop document: Model documents are available in CAM-CONCEPT.
These models can be filled out automatically (machining
operation sheets, instruction sheets, etc.).
The
integration of CAM-CONCEPT in a CAD environment also
means that it is possible to recover geometry from
other CAD software via extremely effective interfaces
(such as DWG, DXF, IGES...).
SIMULATION :
The various stages of positioning and machining are viewed as realistically as possible by 3D simulation of material removal.
In material simulations during image synthesis mode CAM-CONCEPT allows the exact testing, checking and viewing of the various tool paths on the work-piece in position on its fixture.
The shape of tools can be customized and associated with tools in the library.
POSTPROCESSOR:
The CAM CONCEPT postprocessors are especially adapted for all types of CNC
commands.
TRANSFER/SIMULATION OF NC CODE
A transfer and simulation tool is available on an optional basis.
